Sable was a regular groupie on the L.A. scene, well known at the clubs along the Sunset Strip. But she was most famous for being girlfriend of New York Doll, Johnny Thunders. On the Sunset Strip, Sable befriended the very young (14 year-old) Lori Maddox. She introduced her to the L.A. rock scene.

Sable even introduced Lori to ex-boyfriend, Iggy Pop.

But then in 1972, 14 year-old Lori met and began a relationship with a man twice her age.

This man was Jimmy Page: the most famous guitar player in the world at this time.

Jimmy reportedly saw her picture and demanded they meet.

Lori became a legend among aspiring groupies everywhere. Once overshadowed by her more famous friend, Sable, Lori now commanded the attention on her own.

Magazines like "Groupie Rock" and "Star" told her story and young girls began to ask for her autograph and advice on how to date a rock star. With all of her newfound fame, Lori quickly left Sable behind.

Lori and Jimi broke up in 1974, when he left her for another groupie and a Playboy Playmate, Bebe Buell. She lives a quiet life in Los Angeles. Sable Starr also fell out of the limelight. She broke up with Johnny Thunders sometime in the mid-70s. She lives in Las Vegas.
